Startup Week Brandenburg

Brandenburg is far more than Berlin’s green backyard—it is rapidly emerging as a genuine startup hotspot. The region’s thriving ecosystem is powered by excellent institutions, notably the University of Potsdam and the Hasso Plattner Institute (HPI), which serve as critical engines for digital innovation.
Future-shaping ideas are constantly emerging from the Science Parks in Potsdam and the Lausitz Science Park in Cottbus. Thanks to this academic foundation, Potsdam now ranks 5th among Germany’s strongest cities for new ventures.
The momentum is further accelerated by the Brandenburg University of Technology (BTU) Cottbus-Senftenberg and the Medical University of Lausitz – Carl Thiem, which are transforming Cottbus into a powerhouse for energy and health startups. Meanwhile, the Biotechnology Park Hennigsdorf and Startup Lab Schwedt continue to drive industrial innovation across the state.
